SAE International Symposium on Aerospace Safety Management Systems

SAE International offers a program to increase and enhance understanding of safety management systems (SMS) for aerospace design and manufacturing.

The “SAE 2013 Safety Management Systems Symposium (for Aerospace Design and Manufacturing)” will be held March 19-20, 2013, at the Hotel Auditorium Madrid in Madrid, Spain.

The symposium will provide an open and candid forum, allowing for participants to examine how industry has complied with current regulations, discuss plans for complying with upcoming regulations and exchange experiences from global organizations that have begun an SMS or have a fully operational SMS. In addition, the discussions will suggest best practices to facilitate building or effectively enhance existing SMS programs.

SAE International also will hold a professional development seminar in conjunction with the symposium. “ARP4754A and the Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems” is scheduled for March 20-21 and will provide attendees with an in-depth presentation of the guidelines introduced in the revised recommended practice for aircraft and systems development as well as the critical concepts used in aircraft and systems development processes for certification.
